More Sad Beef News

Monday, December 01, 2008

Following up on our previous post about the sad increase in feedlot usage (to fatten cows) here in Argentina, an article in today's WSJ has this to say:

"There is no turning back -- more than 50%, and likely 70% or 80%, of Argentina's cattle are going to be finished in feed lots within the next five years," the president of the Argentine Feedlot Chamber Juan Carlos Eiras told local daily La Voz del Interior.
So very sad.

Hi there,
I'm an Argentine journalist and I'm currently working on an article about blogs made by expats. I really like yours and I'd like to contact you for an interview. If you agree, mi email is ubik4@hotmail.com. I'll tell you more about it via email.
Gracias!
Jorge

This could, very sadly, make Argentina's beef exportable to the US, how weird.

Argentina has a trade association for feedlots? I wish this office would conveniently catch fire in the next cacerolazo.
