Very interesting article from Rev Ken. I´m glad there are so many people in the US having that kind of thoughts... Unfortunately in Argentina we also have sad records and memories about crimes against humanity. Take a look at the official US position on the Rome Statute according to the wikipedia.

I am always fascinated by your notes on architecture and psychological/social behavior! I read the story about ceilings and it brought to my mind a song from Joan Manuel Serrat. It´s about a man that thinks of his beloved and looses himself up on the ceiling ("... me quedé mirando a las alturas, por cierto, al techo no le iria nada mal una mano de pintura..."). My father in law was so anal about this that he talked to all of us (his family) and prohibited giving any ground beef products to his grandkids. This bacteria is easier to find in ground beef.

This might be a bit over the top since I am pretty sure that if you grind beef at home that is well done you should eliminate the bacteria but just to be safe we followed his suggestions.

Our kids do eat steak medium-well though (mostly lomo).

Hi, this is Victor from Argentina.

Argentina is together with Australia one of the countries with the highest rate of "sindrome uremico hemolitico", which can badly damage kidneys in kids. This disease is caused by the escherichia collii bacteria, which can be found in cow meat, specially not enough cooked.

So be careful when you give beef to children under 7 years old, as they are not protected yet from this bacteria and could end up with lifetime dialisis, needing a kidney trasplant or event die.

If you don't want to ban your kid from tasting "bife", at least make sure that it is very well done.

Any doubt I would suggest to consult a doctor or better, a kidney specialist.
